ABOUT US

EBI Drilling Services is a Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) company based out of Duluth Minnesota that provides underground utility services in all types of ground conditions across the United States. 

From clay, to wet sand, to solid bedrock, or a mixture of everything in between, EBI has the equipment, knowledge, and experience for a successful pipe installation. 

Currently, EBI has the ability to install HDPE, Certalock, Fusible PVC (FPVC), and Ductile Iron Pipe ranging from 1" to 36" in diameter.

EBI is focused primarily on water and sewer projects but also has much experience in fiber optic installations and gas mains.

EBI also has the capability to complete pipe installation in solid rock with its DitchWitch JT3020 AT and GEONEX pit launch rigs.

EBI can also provide steel casing installation in any ground conditions using our GEONEX pit launch rigs. These drill rigs are capable of drilling through solid bedrock, rocky cobble conditions, or soil conditions that vary along the bore path.

Our field personal and professional staff have over 50 years of combined experience in the industry.

OUR HISTORY

EBI was incorported in 1991 that originally provided contractor services to thermally treat contaminated soils, removal, disposal, and installation of underground storage tanks, environmental consulting and contracting services, and demolition services.

In 2000, EBI purchased a DitchWitch JT4020 and began providing its services in the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) industry.

Over the years EBI has continued to expand its capabilities to offer a wider range of pipe installation with machine upgrades. Starting from a DitchWitch JT4020, to a JT7020, to a JT8020, to a JT100, to its current HDD drill rigs that are a Vermeer D100x140 and a DitchWitch JT3020 AT, and to its current Rock Drill Rigs that are a Geonex HZR220, HZR400, and HZR610.
